Insights Learning and Development Vancouver

Each year, the United Way gains up to 40 new staff members to assist with fundraising activities.  The Loaned Representative Program sees personnel from participating organizations across the Lower Mainland loaned to United Way for 16 weeks. The diverse background and skills of these Loaned Representatives is of huge benefit to United Way. With the support of Insights, we are able to draw on their experience and build new skills within each individual.

Insights generous and invaluable support over the past few years has helped United Way of the Lower Mainland train our fundraising team to a level that would not be possible without their expertise. Facilitators are mindful of the challenges we face in today’s climate, and the importance of building motivation and bonds between team members.

Insights training enabled the United Way team to define their individual temperaments; answering questions like, how they respond to and perceive others, and how they like to interact with the world? The result increased the teams understanding of how to work together effectively, and also how to take these strategies out to external audiences to ensure effective interactions with workplace volunteers and United Way donors. Insights helped them bond together and develop a sense of team, which is critical to the success of any fundraising campaign.

For United Way, having well trained Loaned Representatives increases the impact of our campaign, ultimately enabling us to ensure at-risk seniors and children get the help they need. Thanks to the partnership between Insights Vancouver and United Way, Loaned Representatives participate in a truly unique professional development opportunity, while giving back to their community. They return to their organizations with a host of new and upgraded skills.
