Insights Vancouver was founded by Joyce Gwilliam in 2000 as one of the first Authorized Learning Centres in North America for Insights Learning & Development of Dundee, Scotland.  Insights Vancouver  works with Insights Offices in over 16 countries to bring the power and uniqueness of the Insights Discovery System to organizations and teams everywhere.

Insights Vancouver is a solution provider for companies committed to providing their employees with the tools, systems and training for increased personal, team and organizational effectiveness. Our core team of Joyce Gwilliam, Anne Bishop, Kim White, Cheney Cawkwell, and Roger Hohenstein are experts in their fields.  The team uses a variety of methods, including assessment tools, workshops, coaching, consulting, on-line modules, learning guides and job aids to ensure meaningful and lasting change.  On all of our assignments, our two most important resources, our ears and our experience, are included free of charge for every client.

Joyce Gwilliam, M. ED

President

joyce is an award winning, internationally recognized organizational development and change specialist. She is passionate about “bringing hope to a changing world” and is excited about the possibilities that personal and organizational transformation can bring. Joyce specializes in a people-centred approach that is firmly grounded in business strategy. She has used this strategy to assist leaders in public and private sector organizations throughout the world to achieve their results - on time, on budget and with employee understanding and support.

 She has over 25 years of combined experience as a management consultant, facilitator, educator and front line manager. She has a warm, dynamic and intuitive approach that combines practical real life experiences with the latest in proven best practices. She is committed to working with leaders to co-create and implement successful strategies for sustained change while respecting individuals’ and organizations’ values, spirit and wholeness.

 Joyce is a member of the Human Resource Management Association, the International Society for Performance Improvement, Canadian Association of Professional Speakers and the North American Faculty of Insights Learning and Development. Joyce is also active in causes that are close to her heart. In August 2004, Joyce participated in Vancouver’s first annual Weekend to End Breast Cancer. In addition, since 2002 Joyce has contributed her time and expertise to the Minerva Foundation’s Learning to Lead Conference. This conference empowers young women to follow their dreams. Joyce is inspired by this opportunity to mentor our next generation of leaders.

 

ANNE BISHOP, M.A.

SENIOR LEARNING CONSULTANT

Anne Bishop is a gifted learning and development professional. She specializes in developing innovative, customized learning solutions that employ world class tools and are engaging, results driven and powerfully delivered.  

With over 25 years experience as an educator, Anne brings her unparalleled depth of experience and unique brand of sparkle to all her projects. She has taken her passion for teaching into the consulting world where she works with private and public sector clients to attain new levels of effectiveness.

Anne is a Senior Consultant with Insights Vancouver. She has a proven ability to guide teams and organizations to discover and leverage their potential. Her mastery in the art of integrating high performance facilitation, coaching and change intervention enables her clients to quickly apply their learning to their everyday work environment.

Anne holds a Masters degree in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University, a Teaching Certificate and Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia. 

She is the Insights client manager for Aspreva Pharmaceuticals, a global pharmaceutical company which identifies, develops and commercializes new applications for existing medicines, QLT Inc., a global biopharmaceutical company specializing in developing treatments for cancer, eye diseases and dermatological and urological conditions and eBay Inc., the World's Online Marketplace® for the sale of goods and services by a diverse community of individuals and small businesses.  Anne has designed and delivered Personal Effectiveness, Team Effectiveness, Stress Management, Leadership Essentials and numerous other workshops and learning solutions for these and other clients. 

Anne’s excellence in delivery of Insights Discovery introductory workshops is a result of her years of experience refining and delivering this program.  Her workshop participants, including Senior Executives, CFO's, mangers and frontline employees consistently give her the highest ratings.

 

KIM WHITE, BA; Cert CR; CPCC

SENIOR LEARNING CONSULTANT

Kim White is leadership coach and trainer who brings over 14 years of diverse work and life experiences to her clients. Her high-energy, engaging approach inspires client confidence and commitment in optimizing personal and professional outcomes.  Kim’s clients consistently value her persistence in getting to the heart of an issue, her skill at guiding strategic conversations and her ability to engage leaders and teams in maintaining focus when faced with shifting and often competing priorities.

Kim is committed to helping leaders build healthier workplace for themselves and their employees. She believes that healthy relationships are the cornerstone of personal and professional success and has a proven track record of optimizing client capacity by co-creating relationships built on a foundation of trust.

Kim holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Certificate in Conflict Resolution from the Justice Institute. She is a Certified Professional Co-active Coach and trained with one of the founding coaching schools in the United States. She continues to hone her coaching skills through on-going professional development in the areas of Team Coaching, Creating Powerful Dialogue, Relationship Coaching and Coaching with Insights.

In addition to her role as a core team member of Insights Vancouver, Kim provides professional coaching and consulting services for the Respectful Workplace Program for BC Hydro and Accenture Business Services for Utilities.  Kim continues to coach candidates in the Conflict Resolution Certificate Program at the Justice Institute of BC.

 

CHENEY CAWKWELL, BA

LEARNING CONSULTANT

Cheney Cawkwell has a great passion for community involvement and development.  She has focused her work and studies around issues of social psychology, herbal medicine, food production and consumption, and the relationship to healthy, sustainable lifestyles.  Author of “A Cookbook and Guide To A Healthier Earth and Changing Lifestyles”, Cheney has also taught vegetarian culinary classes and presented many informational seminars about environmental awareness and sustainable, healthy lifestyle maintenance.  Formerly the creator and owner/operator of “The Thymes Modern Eatery” in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Cheney’s personal mission involves “feeding the world, one person at a time”.  She believes that by educating ourselves about lifestyle choices that nourish our bodies, mind and spirits, we can access a whole new world of opportunities for health and well-being. 

Her work with Insights Vancouver enables Cheney to continuously develop her own skills, while opening the door to new possibilities for tomorrow’s great leaders.

 

 

ROGER HOHENSTEIN, PhD.

SENIOR LEARNING CONSULTANT

Roger has over 30 years of corporate management, entrepreneurial, and academic experience.  With Hewlett Packard (Canada) Ltd. and B.C.Gas, he has experienced the change process from both sides and has been instrumental in managing the people side of change.  As a change and leadership consultant, he has assisted companies in making organizational changes while maintaining human values and respecting the dignity of employees.  And, as an entrepreneur in the Okanagan Valley, he has viewed change close up and personally.  Having experienced the high financial and human cost of change while recognizing the necessity for change, Roger is committed to finding ways to mitigate the impact on employees and organizations.  Roger is an expert at developing and implementing an organization's strategic and operational communications plan.
